The stage of the transformation of HR functions has come to an end in many companies by the beginning of 2010. There is no such demand for HR managers to be able to deal with such changes as were experienced last year.

“Now we are generally looking for people to fill vacancies which are opened because of the structural changes in HR”, says Elena Birukova, the head of Antal Russia HR recruitment department. “There are new aspects inside organizations for HR professionals as now successful people are now focused on career promotion (for example those who were responsible for a country move) to more senior HR roles on a regional level. Also we noticed that a lot of positions in HR are now are free because of maternity leave. So we are working on a number of projects to find people to work on a temporary basis. Usually such vacancies can be interesting for people who are not working or for those who are having some difficulties with their current employer”.

Compensation & Benefits managers as well as HR administrative managers are in high demand in the beginning of 2010, which is often the result of structural changes. The Training and Development field is temporarily calm. Large companies are paying more attention to assessment of their candidates as it not only helps to check competence and choose the best professionals, but also to best fit the person into the company. It causes the high demand in recruitment managers with working experience in organisations where such methods have been successfully implemented.

The there is demand for professionals who are able to combine competence in recruitment and developing managers. “This is the position which joins such areas as recruitment, assessment and development, says Eugeniy Laptev, principal consultant at Antal Russia HR recruitment department. “Companies are looking for a ‘clever’ approach to recruitment, when they take into consideration not only the supply of the labour market, but also internal human resources, talent pool and talent management. It can successfully aligned with the strategy of cost saving”.

Overall the current situation on the HR recruitment market can be defined as stable and it is a good trend.
